ATTO Amazonian Tall Tower Observatory
In the middle of the rainforest stands a 325 meters high metal tower. The steel giant, created by the research project ATTO (Amazonian Tall Tower Observatory) is equipped with measuring instruments that help record climate-relevant data.
The Amazon Rainforest is considered crucial in the fight against global warming.
In the middle of the rainforest, 325 meters high, stands a metal tower higher than the Eiffel Tower. The steel giant, created by the research project ATTO (Amazonian Tall Tower Observatory) is equipped with measuring instruments that help record and evaluate the climate-relevant chemical and physical processes of the largest contiguous forest area in the world and thus create new foundations for climate protection.
Working safely with INNOTECH in Brazil
For permanent protection during the ascent and descent, INNOTECH designed a rail system.
The customized special version of our TAURUS rail system allows people working on the ATTO tower to secure themselves safely on the mobile anchorage point or on the guided type fall arrester. Flexible rail connectors and end seals are very easy to install. Curved and arched elements adapt perfectly to the structural conditions - an optimal fall protection for the measuring tower. In the unlikely event of a fall the allround slider blocks and therefore saves lives. Supported by the Max Planck Institute in Jena and local helpers, this beautiful giant was installed.

Founded in 2001, INNOTECH Arbeitsschutz is a family-owned company with headquarters in Kirchham and branch offices in Germany and Switzerland. With a dedicated research and development team, INNOTECH soon set international standards in the area of occupational safety. Ever since, it has driven forward the further development of innovative products. Today INNOTECH is one of the largest manufacturers in Europe which has specialised exclusively in the production of safety systems, with 88% from its own manufacture, in order to guarantee maximum quality.
According to various statistics, several hundred people have an accident on roofs every year. Accidents that could have been prevented with appropriate safety equipment and the diligent installation of high-quality fall protection systems.
