LIGHT skylight protection system

LIGHT-ON-TOP

Strip light protection using a net

Translucent roof surfaces certainly provide light but, because they are difficult to recognise with increasing service life, they become a high fall-through risk for individuals. Here, LIGHT-ON-TOP provides optimum protection: The sophisticated variant of the proven LIGHT skylight protection system guarantees permanent fall-through protection for strip lights. The permanently installed net can be attached to trapezoidal sheeting and sandwich panels, and is a suitable solution for industrial roofs, for example. Installation from outside and above is quick and simple without opening the roof cladding. This design in turn allows simple inspection of the system’s integrity.

  • Simple installation from outside and above, so no opening at all of the roof cladding is necessary
  • Flexibly adaptable to the individual project, because it can be cut exactly to length in situ
  • Efficient installation and fewer intrusions into the roof structure, thanks to the long fastening distances of up to 1.5 metres
  • Long service life of the system, because the distance of the net from the strip light prevents damage from abrasion and ensures that snow and ice slide off when they build up

LIGHT-ON-TOP - Technical data

The basis of LIGHT-ON-TOP is a 2.5 mm thick steel wire core with a UV-resistant PVC-coating, in order to ensure long durability and weather resistance. The mesh dimensions are 60 x 60 mm, and this provides an optimum combination of safety and light permeability. The system was developed specially for use on trapezoidal sheeting and sandwich panel roofs (with a minimum material thickness of 0.5 mm for steel and 0.6 mm for aluminium). Fastening sets are used for installation, and these are optimally matched to the respective net dimensions.

Certified safety

The system is dynamically tested using 100 kg from a fall height of 1.2 metres. This corresponds to a fall energy of 1200 joules.

Simple to retrofit

LIGHT-ON-TOP can be easily retrofitted to existing light panels, without needing extensive structural modifications.

Three standard sizes

LIGHT-ON-TOP is available in three standard net widths (1500 mm, 1750 mm, 2000 mm), provided in 25 metre rolls. The net can be cut in situ, directly to the project-specific size. Other widths available upon request.
