TAURUS HORIZONTAL Rail system for horizontal use
The TAURUS HORIZONTAL rail system is used wherever movement along a horizontal walkway with a risk of falling needs to be secured. Whether along roofs, facades, as an overhead application, in industrial settings or in conjunction with photovoltaic systems, it provides optimum safety against falls at angles of up to 5°. Another key benefit of the horizontal rail system is the flexibility it offers in positioning anchor points for rope access methods. This is an access method used for tasks such as installation and cleaning work in hard-to-reach areas. With the aid of this technique, workers can use ropes and the appropriate safety system to position themselves at specific points on the structure of the building in order to carry out the necessary work there.
- High flexibility thanks to the fastening option on a wide range of substructures (concrete, steel, wood, PV substructures, etc.), as well as on tiled roofs.
- Reduced installation effort thanks to rail fasteners spaced up to 5 m apart.
- Seamless movement within the system thanks to the sliders (two of which are removable), specially developed for horizontal use.

TAURUS HORIZONTAL - Technical data
The TAURUS system consists of high-quality alloyed aluminium rails. These rails, in combination with the various individual components – such as the specially developed connectors (optionally available with elongation compensation), end units, access elements and the adjustable curved elements – together form a coherent, integrated system. The system can be mounted on a wide range of substructures, as well as on tiled roofs. It is also compatible with many INNOTECH anchor points.
rope access method
With a reduced fastening distance of no more than 1 metre, the TAURUS HORIZONTAL rail system is also certified for use in the rope access method.
Reduced installation effort
When used as a fall prevention (protection) system, the fixings are spaced 3 metres apart. With appropriate additional measures, fastening distances of up to 5 metres can be achieved, which has a positive economic impact on the entire installation process.
Removable sliders
The standard glider models ensure optimum movement within the system. In addition to the standard products, an HO glider series is also available to complement the system. These are gliders that can be attached and removed at any point along the entire length of the rail.
