Personal protective equipment (PPE)
The reliable connection between the user and the fall protection system
Your custom fall protection system:
Working at heights without risk thanks to PPE
When performing installation, servicing, and other work at heights, professionals must go beyond guardrails and other collective protective measures to reach their destination. A fall (from a height) from these often dizzying heights would be fatal! For this reason, we at INNOTECH have developed various components of personal protective equipment for fall protection.
Our customer satisfaction proves it: Our customized solutions provide reliable safety for your employees and ensure a smooth workflow in your company.
Whether on roofs, scaffolding, or facades—our personal protective equipment against falls from a height (PPE) is essential for the individual safety of your employees!
Functional & versatile:
When developing our products, we ultimately accept only the very highest quality standards. That is why our PPE is particularly durable and functional, and offers perfect compatibility with all INNOTECH systems.
Intuitive to use:
Proper training in the use of our safety solutions is required by law—and is essential to ensure that the equipment is worn correctly. However , the technology is deliberately designed to be user-friendly so that your teams can focus entirely on their actual tasks.
Tailored to your business:
Working at heights is a routine part of daily operations in many industries. Our product range offers certified equipment that covers a wide variety of applications. You’re sure to find the ideal solution for your business.
Versatile Fall Protection System:
Possible Applications for PPE
Typical applications for our fall protection PPE include, for example, work on roofs, facades, or in shafts. However, a fall hazard also exists in many situations that you might not immediately think of:
- Day-to-day work in a high-bay warehouse
- Servicing as well as loading and unloading of vehicles
- Working near and with machinery, as well as in industrial and production settings
- And much more.
- To start with, our experts are available to meet with you in person. They will answer all your questions and gain an initial understanding of your situation. During this consultation, the INNOTECH professionals will inform you about all system components as well as legal requirements.
- Upon request, we will then be happy to provide you with a quote tailored to your company or process your order immediately. We are also available at any time for reorders or to provide advice if you are interested in adding to your existing equipment.
- If you wish, our certified specialists or one of our trained installation partners can also handle the installation of the required components on your premises (e.g., rail or cable systems).
A fall protection system with belts as personal protective equipment
Depending on the application, choosing the right PPE STRINGS is one of the most important factors when working in areas with a risk of falling. For this reason, we at INNOTECH offer four harness systems and a special airbag vest in our product range.
EASY
The PSA-STRING-1-EASY model features fall arrest loops at both the front and back, making it ideal for all applications where fall protection is required.
BASIC
Even in the basic version PSA-STRING-1-BASIC , this harness model features all necessary and required safety features and is ideal for occasional use.
COMFORT
General-purpose tasks that need to be performed on a regular basis require the Comfort model. The PSA-STRING-1-COMFORT is the perfect companion even for slightly longer assignments.
PRO
Our Pro model is designed for facade builders and industrial climbers and is intended for continuous use. The robust PSA-STRING-1-PRO safety harness ensures optimal freedom of movement and offers a high level of comfort.
WORKAIR Vest
There are situations in which it is not practical to use a safety belt for proper fall protection—for example, when the fall height is low. The PSA-STRING-WORKAIR uses sensors to detect a fall and deploys the integrated airbag.
To get complete equipment right away, we offer you the PSA-SET-BASIC for general-purpose work and the PSA-SET-ROOF for work on pitched roofs!
What is personal protective equipment?
INNOTECH’s personal protective equipment (PPE) includes all items of equipment that employees wear or use while working to protect themselves from the risk of falling (from a height). This includes, for example, harness systems,PPE lanyards, and associated equipment such as a sturdy helmet. PPE for fall protection is always required when no general fall protection systems are in place or when hazards cannot be avoided by such systems.
What does personal protective equipment (PPE) for fall (from a height) include?
INNOTECH offers a variety of components for a comprehensive PPE system. These include PPE harnesses, essential accessories such as hard hats, and PPE lanyards, which connect the personal protective equipment to the anchor points. Our experts also install the necessary rope / cable and rail systems.
When does PPE need to be replaced?
It is essential to inspect the PPE for visible damage, such as tears, before each use. If any defects are found during this inspection, the PPE must not be used under any circumstances! In addition, an inspection must be conducted at least once a year by a qualified person. The instructions in the user manual must also be followed—this is the only way to ensure safety when working at heights using fall protection equipment.
When should fall protection PPE be used?
Personal protective equipment against falls from a height is always used when collective protective measures are lacking or insufficient to eliminate the hazard. Since a fall from a height of two meters poses an acute danger to life and limb, appropriate fall protection is required by law at this height and above.
What are the storage requirements for PPE?
The same applies to the storage of protective equipment: Be sure to follow the instructions in the manual! In general, it is important to choose a cool, dry, and, above all, clean place to store PPE in order to prevent contamination or damage. When storing belts, you should also ensure that they do not become tangled. We therefore recommend hanging them or storing them flat. Heavy objects should never be placed on the belts.
Do I need training on how to use PPE?
Yes, only individuals who have been trained in the use of fall protection systems are permitted to use them. Training is essential for the proper use of these systems and is required by law.
How often does PPE need to be inspected?
A test by a qualified person must be conducted once a year; however, the user must always inspect all components of the PPE before each use. If cracks, deformations, or other defects are found, the PPE in question must no longer be used!
Fall Protection System Using Rail and Rope Systems
Rail and rope systems play a central role in personal fall protection—they serve as the link between the user and the safety system. By attaching the PPE to the rail or rope / cable, they enable horizontal, vertical, or inclined movement in hazardous areas. Both rope / cable and rail systems can be installed on various surfaces—from concrete to steel to wood—and can also be attached to substructures.
Rope systems
Horizontally or vertically tensioned ropes / cables provide a high degree of flexibility and adapt perfectly to your building structures. In addition to roofs, they are also frequently used in industrial buildings. Safety during movement along the stainless steel cable is ensured by a connector attached to the belt.
Rail systems
In these systems, personal protective equipment is attached to anchorage rails using connecting elements. These systems are characterized by their ability to be used vertically and/or horizontally, thereby allowing for a combination of directions when moving from one level to another. Securing workers from the ground up via ladders and access platforms works just as smoothly as on roofs. Securing workstations via stairways is also no problem. The high stability of the rails also allows for use in particularly challenging environments, such as on building facades.
