The LIGHT skylight protection system, comprising a sturdy steel mesh cage, offers visually appealing fall-through protection for all persons within the hazard zone of skylights. The precise, made-to-measure manufacturing of the LIGHT system variant lays the foundation for a stylish solution to the necessary fall-through protection for skylights. Recesses and curves pose no problem. The customisable colour scheme completes the attractive appearance: thanks to its customisable shape and colour, LIGHT blends perfectly into the existing architecture. Installation takes place directly within the light well without affecting the appearance or structural integrity of the roof and can therefore also be carried out retrospectively. The optimised mesh size of the grille allows for maximum transmission of light and smoke.

LIGHT SKYLIGHT PROTECTION SYSTEM - Technical data
The LIGHT skylight protection system consists of a galvanised steel mesh cage that reliably prevents falls from a height of 1.2 metres. The mesh cage is manufactured to fit the skylight precisely using a dimension sheet. A range of sizes and designs are therefore available, including rounded versions, for example. A maximum mesh size of 100 x 100 mm ensures a high level of light and smoke permeability. Cut-outs for the skylight’s opening mechanism and other objects within the light well can also be customised.

PRODUCT UPDATES
When retrofitting fall-through protection to NRWG (natural smoke and heat extraction units) in accordance with EN 12101-2, it must be checked whether the component is already included in the original type approval. If this evidence is missing, a new test in accordance with Article 17 of the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) is required. The test report required for this is available on our website. Alternatively, the BARRIER-VARIO-SKYLIGHT product can usually be used.
