SHOW SYSTEMActivities at an open window generally, but above all in an industrial scenario, represent a danger source which is frequently underestimated or even unrecognised. And so building cleaners who work and perform tasks at difficult-to-access locations which may require the cleaner to lean out are exposed to an increased risk of falling. In this case, even from a fall height of one metre, fall protection must be provided.
Employers are responsible for the safety of their employees. Danger sources must therefore be identified as closely as possible and assessed, so that appropriate protective measures can be taken. A general rule: For professional window-cleaning, the workers must be protected by collective or individual safety solutions. In addition, permanent or removable fall protection can be deployed. If these safety systems are intended for industrial use, then they must be tested and certified accordingly. If the legal requirements are ignored, then the employer is liable.

The Modular Fall Prevention System for Windows(MFS) is among the collective fall protection systems for windows. It mitigates the danger of the open window for people performing cleaning tasks there. The best thing: Because it provides collective protection, no personal protective equipment(PPE) is required. The Modular Fall Prevention System for Windows (MFS) can be attached using drilling or clamping, and therefore provides versatile options for use.
In contrast, the EAP-LOCK-13 count as a single anchor point for individual protection. With its rotating, removable anchorage eye it protects an individual user at an open window. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is strictly mandatory for this type of protection.

Depending on the building and its structure and substance, the Modular Fall Prevention System for Windows can be installed using clamping or drilling.
Clamped fastening has the advantage that the system can be transported from window to window and so it takes only a few simple steps to make it ready for use. Thanks to the rubber toppings fitted on the clamps, the Modular Fall Prevention System for Windows (MFS) is, for example, also suitable for listed buildings, where drillings are undesirable. For this type of fastening – depending on the window height – a maximum of 4 telescopic rods may be fitted.

Challenges
Listed buildings
Listed properties are deemed to be buildings particularly worthy of protection. Their cleaning, care, and maintenance are subject to a wide range of requirements and approvals. The responsible authorities are often very sensitive to potential damage which could be caused by cleaning tasks, for example.
The special solution for listed buildings
Even for cleaning tasks, fall protection systems still have to be applied to listed properties. Because drillings are not usually permitted in such cases, clamped solutions such as the Modular Fall Prevention System for Windows (MFS) can be the answer. This was specially developed for sensitive window frames, and has a modular structure. Rubber toppings at sensitive locations prevent damage to facades, window frames, and window ledges.
Windows with generous dimensions
Not all windows can be fully reached and cleaned from the ground. Windows of larger dimensions require ladders, or various other ascent aids, in order that cleaners can carry out their work. However, these in turn create an increased fall risk. Leaning out may represent a further danger source for very tall windows.
The special solution for generous window dimensions
Depending on the window, the retractable telescopic rods of the Modular Fall Prevention System for Windows (MFS) may be the best choice. Depending on the window height, the number of retractable telescopic rods to be attached may vary. In addition, enhancement with a net (MFS-NET-81) is possible – this provides additional safety.
